Over the New Year, the majority of Perl employers in London decided they were voraciously hiring. At the same time, apparently, most Perl developers decided to scuttle — hermit-crab-like 🦀🐚 — away from the active job market.

Me, I get excited by shiny things. I played with Maypole before Catalyst or Mojolicious was a thing, and I wrote some mean Class::DBI code before DBIx::Class took over the Perl ORM business.
