Mac comes with 'open' and Linux comes with xdg-open. They will both open the appropriate tool based on the extension of the file you give to them. 'ot' can only open an editor, but it will figure out the file it needs to open in a very clever way understanding Perl Module names and even error messages.

Is this trolling or just a lack of empathy? My experience with the Perl 6 community is rather positive, but this post?

It can be fun to maintain a dynamic web site, but for a blog you might be better off with a static web site generator. If you would like to enable commenting, you can use one of the external comment-providers.

Laurent's solutions is always looked up by many members as reference point. He is so comfortable with #Perl5 and #Perl6. I can't tell his favourite of both.

Based out of the leafy city of Cambridge – a home for everyone from Darwin to Hawking – you’ll be working for a company specialising in genomics, whose platform aids clinicians in investigating the human genome, identifying diseases and working to beat them.

Hippies used to be the ones trying to save the world — today the tech gurus have joined them. At least the ones inventing clever tech solutions that make the world a little bit of a better place. This particular company is doing their part by providing charities with online payment and campaign solutions.

You’re going to want to know the company is growing, successful, and well-financed, all of which this particular company is – you’ve probably heard of them, and you may well have used their services. In a nutshell. Your average Perl development role, but with a personal recommendation that your colleagues are great people, and that I’d be surprised if you didn’t enjoy your time there.

They make music and tech work together to support independent artists. Yeah, that sounds like such a stereotypical battle cry, coming from a bunch of rebels who want to change the music industry. But really, they are doing it. Have been doing it for quite some time at that.

A Cambridge-based provider of a revolutionary diagnostic tool for clinicians is looking for Modern Perl developers who are passionate about using their tech skills to help further the field of medicine. You’ll be building the tools that scientists are using to cure disease.
